What to wear for your FALL PHOTOSHOOT

Yay!  Fall is almost here in Chicago!  Chicago and its surrounding suburbs during late-September through the end of October is stunning! The leaves on our trees turn into beautiful orange, red, and yellow hues before they fall off the trees for the winter.   

I strongly encourage you to schedule an outdoor photo shoot sometime in September or October if you live in the Midwest and especially if you live in the Chicagoland area.

I often get the question on, "what to wear?" And my first answer is, "what you know you look and feel good in!"  The more confident you feel at your photoshoot the better you will look in your photos and the more you will love your photos.   Try to wear something you can move around in, especially for outdoor photos, and even more so if you have children under the age of 5 - where staying still is probably not an option!   

My second suggestion is to, "dress mom first."  I find that, for us women, it is more difficult to choose something we love, especially if we are restricted on coordinating specific colors.  Find something that you love for you first (try it on!) and then pick out what you want to dress other adults and the kids.

My "Rules" for Fall Photoshoots

1. Make it comfortable enough to move, sit, and run after your child!

2. Dress mom first

3. Compliment DO NOT MATCH everyone in the same outfit/colors

4. Avoid distracting large patterns (unless that's totally your style, then you do you lovely)

5. Remember shoes.  Yes, they will show in some images, babies can definitely go barefoot!

6. When choosing colors for your fall photoshoot: think about all the beautiful fall colors and work with those for good tones for your clothing.

7. Never, ever wear Neon.
